With cairo 1.4.6 non-antialiased xlib text doesn't appear at all 

that means, I have to set in the font configuration options of gnome the settings for #4 ( ... LCD optimized ones )
all other settings does not work correctly.

This bug remembered me on bug Bug#: 7494 and thats the reason I decided to send it here. It may be not correct placed in here, so if you know it better, please move it to the right place.
The mentioned bug was for cairo 1.2.x, but mine cairo is an much later version, so I decided to post this again, also because its not entirely the same.
