Description lobzang 2007-06-20 01:38:25 UTC
Hi ,
I recently upgraded from Fedora Core 6 to Fedora 7, and now I cannot start my Xserver anymore. Comparing the log, I found that bitmap module is not loaded.
Looking at the package, I can see that libbitmap.so has disappered from the xorg-x11-server-Xorg (1.3.0).

Thanks in advance,
Lobzang.

Not loading the bitmap module is not fatal.

Can you attach your X log from the failure case please?

Hi,

thanks for your reply.
I have attached both good and failing logs.
Indeed you are right there is no fatal error in the log, however I have a blank screen when starting X, and my maching hangs, so I have to reboot it...
FYI a fresh install / live cd on a fc7 also fails.

Updating summary to match reality.
Comment 6 Adam Jackson 2008-03-24 10:48:02 UTC
I believe this is just another x86emu bug. Does this work in rawhide or F8 updates?
Comment 7 lobzang 2008-03-24 13:05:04 UTC
Hi,

This doesn't work also on F8 and rawhide...

tdfx isn't a top tier driver, moving out to 7.5.

Hi,

I just tried FC9 and this works perfectly :)
I think you can close the bug.

Thanks,

Oleg.
