Hi, it's a Qt problem unfortunately. I explained it at http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-566403.html a few days ago. Probably the easiest option to use the Condensed typefaces in KDE is to revert your FontConfig to an earlier version (I don't remember which version that broke it in KDE).
