There are ZERO kerning pairs in DejaVu Sans (regular)and DejaVu Sans Condensed (regular) in v 2.17. The bold, oblique and bold oblique DO have kerning pairs.
Comment 1 Ben Laenen 2007-06-30 07:14:29 UTC
How did you come to that conclusion? I've checked the files that were released with 2.17 and they all have normal kerning. But the fonts use kern classes instead of the more usual kern pairs, if that's a problem.
Comment 2 Denis Jacquerye 2007-06-30 08:21:00 UTC
We actually switched back to kern pairs, but just in the generated TTF files.
So the kern classes aren’t the issue.

Which 2.17 of DejaVu are you using? Is this a distribution’s package or the official release?
