Description Lukasz Miedzybrodzki 2004-08-20 11:49:17 UTC
Xorg 6.8.0 RC 2 downloaded from CVS and builded 20 Aug
My xmms doesn't start and reporting this error:

[brodzky@yai ~]$ xmms
Gdk-ERROR **: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
  serial 228 error_code 8 request_code 2 minor_code

I've recompiled glib 1.2.10, gtk+ 1.2.10 and gdk-pixbuf and still getting this
error. Downgrade to 6.7.0 makes xmms works fine.

i'm seeing something similar with firefox. i suspect we're not hiding the new
visuals correctly in all cases.

reporter, could you try disabling the Composite extension in your xorg.conf and
see if that helps?

yeah. I turned it off and Xmms works as it should.

I've noticed that not only xmms crashes when composite extension is on. gMplayer
crashes at time when it should display open file window.

(sorry for my poor English :/)

i think this is NOTABUG. try turning composite back on, and run xmms like so:

XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1 xmms

that should fix it. (see also bug #1145)
Comment 4 Lukasz Miedzybrodzki 2004-08-21 12:37:48 UTC
Yes. Now xmms and gmplayer works as it should.
