Description Philip Verhoeven 2004-08-25 06:27:19 UTC
after a success story with my logitech MX-700 mouse (finally with 10 buttons), I
wanted to enable the evdev protocol for my keyboard too to be able to use all
the special keys on my Logitech Desktop MX keyboard (Y-RJ20).

result: none of the "special" keys work, or show any response when running xev.
(the keys do work with the standard protocol)
Most standard keys work, however some don't.

I'll attach my xorg.conf, Xorg.0.log and dmesg in a few minutes.

confirmed. using "microsoftpro" Xkb definition, and Microsoft internet Keyboard
Pro via USB interface and evdev protocol, no functionality of "hotkeys"

The "evdev brain" patch is not part of the official Xorg release. You don't
mention what distro you're running, but I think gentoo includes this patch in
the build.

I'm closing the X.org bug, you should contact your distributor instead about
this issue.
