Please verify two things: 1) check that the reduced blanking option is set correctly. 2) check that the monitor actually provides reduced blanking modes or that you have provided reduced blanking modes yourself. Failing that, try giving your reduced blanking mode a unique name, and then list it as the first possible mode in your Modes directive. If this doesn't fix your problem, please attach the log. (In reply to comment #1) Thanks for you reply > Please verify two things: > 1) check that the reduced blanking option is set correctly. I am sure I did this correctly and verified in the log-File > 2) check that the monitor actually provides reduced blanking modes or that > you have provided reduced blanking modes yourself. maybe our displays do not provide the correct mode lines (EIZO, NEC, different models). But they are working well with reduced blanking modes. Are you sure displays provide such modes over DDC/EDID? > > Failing that, try giving your reduced blanking mode a unique name, and then > list it as the first possible mode in your Modes directive. > When I provide a modeline as calculated by cvt -r this works and the reduced mode is set (without the Option ReducedBlanking). Maybe I am completely wrong - but should the server not be able to select a reduced blanking mode itself when the display type is suitable? Without this autodetecting optimal modes for digital displays will not work without an explicit Monitor-Section. > If this doesn't fix your problem, please attach the log. > I'm not aware of any bugs in the RB support. It sounds like your monitor isn't claiming support for RB; we, naturally, believe it. If you reopen this bug, please attach the EDID data from your monitor. |
