Description Clytie Siddall 2007-09-17 02:05:12 UTC
Please extend the DejaVu Mono Sans range to cover Vietnamese, as DejaVu Sans does.

More and more, I am having to translate text which will be displayed as monospaced (comments and instructions in code, for example), and that means we can't use DejaVu for that text.

We have to use Free Mono, which is not of high quality, or our own URWVN mono font, which is not distributed by default.

The Vietnamese glyph range is all over the place on the Unicode plane(s): not in one tidy bundle. But since you support it in DejaVu Sans, you know where it is.

I hope this is a reasonable request. I am keen to support the user of DejaVu fonts in all the projects for which I translate, but currently, I can't recommend DejaVu for monospaced text.

Thankyou for all your good work in improving the display of Vietnamese in DejaVu Sans.

I have updated those fonts to complete Vietnamese coverage; we have to wait for the pull request to be accepted.
