Upon starting Mathematica 6.0 under compiz, in addition to the usual Mathematica windows I get one large extra window, which is empty (painted white), has blank titlebar and cannot be closed (although it can be resized).  When I start doing calculations a second extra window appears.  These extra windows are absent under other window managers e.g. kwin.

I am using Gentoo and the binary nvidia drivers, xorg 7.3 and a recent git version of compiz (with the compiz-fusion plugins).
