Description carlo 2007-10-23 07:48:05 UTC
I have Kubuntu 7.04 installed on my PC with an ATI 9200SE video card and I would like to improve the 3D rendering . I can get about 300 fps on my machine.

If i write "glxinfo | grep rendering" I get no 3D rendering.

To get the "ati" driver to work, I have to go through "sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg".

I uninstalled the flgrx driver.

Thanks

make sure you fully get rid of fglrx. It leave overwrites several libs with it's own versions that will break the open source driver. What bug are you trying to report?

carlo, Kubuntu 7.04 reached EOL on October 19, 2008. For more on this, please see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases.

If this is reproducible with a supported release, it will help immensely if you filed a new report with Ubuntu by ensuring you have the package xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes button for attaching additional debugging information running the following from a terminal:
ubuntu-bug xorg

Also, please feel free to subscribe me to it.
