There is a script, which casn simplify move from mime-info to shared-mime-info
for aplication maintainers.

Note that old mime-info cannot be deleted yet, because MIME type translations
and other information is still read from mime info by many apps.

Script supports DESTDIR and has hardwired paths; before integrating to gnome-vfs
package, expansion of system-dependent paths is needed.

Note: gnome-vfs.xml generated from current gnome-mime-info is about 4 times
longer than current freedesktop.org.xml (probably more thanslations or data types).

I don't think this program is generally useful. Most gnome-mime-data info has already been ported to shared-mime-info, so it would make more sense to put this script in the Wiki rather than in the package where it wouldn't be used.
