In reply to comment #0 > Using xorg-x11-drv-radeonhd-0.0.2-0.14.20071031git.fc9 on F8 as suggested by > Hans Ulrich Niedermann For the record, this git commit ad599c4436c64b11d18c89da6a684f5241979a96. Aha, there is some electrical control issue with TMDSA. Will look into this once i have a DMS59 -> DVI cable for my dell card (with broken fb ram) I have experienced that Vista (or the bios) occasionally sends the signal to the wrong output, so it sounds plausible that something isn't like it should be... For the record, conntest output for the screen connected to the output marked "1", "2" and no screen. ==> rhd-conntest-connecter-1 <== Checking connectors on 0x7183, 0x1028, 0x0D02 (@01:00:00): Load Detection: RHD_OUTPUT_TMDSA HotPlug: RHD_HPD_0 DDC: RHD_DDC_0 DDC Line[0]: Slaves: 6e a0 ==> rhd-conntest-connecter-2 <== Checking connectors on 0x7183, 0x1028, 0x0D02 (@01:00:00): Load Detection: RHD_OUTPUT_NONE HotPlug: RHD_HPD_1 DDC: RHD_DDC_1 DDC Line[1]: Slaves: 6e 74 a0 ==> rhd-conntest-connecter-none <== Checking connectors on 0x7183, 0x1028, 0x0D02 (@01:00:00): Load Detection: RHD_OUTPUT_NONE HotPlug: RHD_HPD_NONE DDC: RHD_DDC_NONE Can I help testing something? Or measure what is connected and what isn't? Have you arranged access to a splitter cable, or are you waiting for someone to send you one? now using xorg-x11-drv-radeonhd-0.0.2-0.15.20071105git.fc9 with e9c24f662860229440dc61ecbae22e7d7c74d442 I get the same flickering/flashing behaviour as before with digital output. But given the hint that the problems was due to the digital splitter cable I tried with an analog splitter cable, and that works! So now I can use the card - and now I know why 2d acceleration is nice to have ;-) ==> rhd-conntest-connecter-analog-1 <== rhd_conntest: version 0.0.2, built from git branch fedora/snapshot, commit e9c24f66.. Have been able to test this with a DMS59->DVI-I connector. I'm having similar problems with the current HEAD. I also have a Dell-variant of an X1300 with the DMS59->DVI-I connector. But i have two monitors attached to the two DVI-I connectors of the DMS59->DVI-I connector. The primary monitor is constantly flickering and blanking form time to time. These faults occur pretty much randomly. The secondary montor has absolutely no problems. Everything is looking as it should be. I tried to set ForceReduced in the Device Section of my xorg.xonf, but that didn't change anything. Xorg.log for Dual-DVI attached to DMS-59
I just pushed up a commit that should fix the flickering. A user on irc reported this a short while ago, and i was able to reproduce it now. Get our latest git, pushed just minutes ago, and then it should hopefully be fixed. Works like a charm now. I can confirm that my Dell with RV516 X1300 pro and a splitter cable now works fine. Thanks! Tested with f5ffe41a6c1ffa9418782b7059b075da06e7c496 Fri, 23 Nov 2007 17:36:58 +0000 (18:36 +0100) Now I'm looking forward to 2D acceleration! ;-) |
