Description Frederic Crozat 2007-11-22 06:47:38 UTC
There is currently no way to hide a .desktop file from both menu in desktop environment AND menu editors (NoDisplay only hides in desktop environment).

Using OnlyShowIn=; is not considered as valid by latest version of desktop-file-validate.

So, we should either enable this case or add a None keyword (or X-None for backward compatibility maybe).

Sorry for the noise, reassigning to new (since 2 years) maintainers (Ryan & David).
Comment 2 David Faure 2016-08-20 09:08:25 UTC
Well, one can use Hidden=true to hide from *everything*, but I suppose you still wanted the mime-apps association to work...

I'm OK with adding support for OnlyShowIn=, but I need a patch for desktop-file-utils.

(I just checked and OnlyShowIn=; should work without modifications in the KDE implementation.)
