Description Carlo Vaccari 2007-11-27 15:56:55 UTC
I use the nvidia-glx-new driver with its built-in compositing, with a GeForce 6200a on Ubuntu 7.10. I have version 1:0.6.2+git20071119-0ubuntu1~gutsy1 of the Compiz core, version 0.6.0+git20071121-0ubuntu1~gutsy1 of the Fusion Extra plugins, version 0.5.2+git20070928-0ubuntu2 of the main plugins, and version 0.3~git20070717-0ubuntu1 of Emerald, all off the repositories.

When I use the application switcher, sometimes the cube fails to rotate to the side with the desired window, and when I release the shortcut keys, the decorations all vanish, indicating that Emerald has crashed. Other plugins don't have that effect, such as the shift switcher plugin which I now use more.

It has been happening since I first installed Gutsy; previous versions of regular Compiz and Beryl never had this problem.

compiz 0.6.2
emerald version 0.5.2
gnome 2.22.3

Seems to be I have the similar problem:

Just after starting compiz-start:
LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=1 compiz --replace --sm-disable ccp

and

emerald:
emerald --replace

the first window switch generate exception in emerald. Please find the backtraces attached.

This happens almost every time after reboot. If 'emerald --replace' executed again, then crash not repeated. There is no info on console except single bug-buddy warning.
