Hi,
I'm getting a strange xserver crash from just one particular usage: running gnustep applications with the gnustep cairo backend (both latest from svn). Everything else I've tried works fine (gtk apps, gnustep libart backend.)

This crash occurs on my laptop (pentium 3, intel 82815 integrated graphics.) However, the gnustep cairo backend works fine on my other computer (with ati 9600).

I had this crash on ubuntu gutsy, and also on debian sid which looks like it has pretty much the latest xserver and intel driver:
xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.2.0-1
xserver-xorg-core 2:1.4-3

Lastly, setting Option "NoAccel" "true" in the Device section of my xorg.conf prevents the crashes.

I'm attaching the two different backtraces I get in debian sid, the same ones as in ubuntu, (I've done about 10 crashes, and seem to get about the same number of both backtraces) as well as my xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log after a crash.

Eric,

I guess your configuration by default use EXA. Could you please try XAA to see if it also crash? The "NoAccel" is a helpful info...

Michael: He is using an 815, and thus EXA isn't an option at all (the backtrace even includes XAA functions).

Adjusting severity: crashes & hangs should be marked critical.

This issue is affecting a hardware component which is not being actively worked on anymore.

Moving the assignee to the dri-devel list as contact, to give this issue a better coverage.

i810 is dead, xaa is gone and with it all acceleration.
