Open a DejaVu font file in Windows XP and you get something like:

DejaVu Sans Bold (TrueType)
----------------------
Typeface name: DejaVu Sans
File size: 575 KB
Version: Version 2.22

Notice how "Version: Version 2.22" is redundant. My guess is that this is due to redundant labeling in the "Version" field and, thus, a bug. (Note that I don’t know much about font creation though.) Based upon my file-naming system for fonts, this leads to an also-redundant "DejaVu Sans [DejaVu Sans Bold] (vVersion 2.22)" when the expected is "DejaVu Sans [DejaVu Sans Bold] (v2.22)".

My request is that the DejaVu fonts be changed so that the last part of the above example reads "Version: 2.22".
