Description Pavel Roskin 2007-12-28 13:39:57 UTC
When playing the flash file from http://red-bean.com/proski/loading.swf in swfplay, and the player is maximized, swfplay exits halfway (after the green paw is seen stepping on the floor) with the message:

lt-swfplay: Fatal IO error 104 (Connection reset by peer) on X server :0.0.

Please note that you should click on "play" in the beginning many times very fast to work bug #13241.

Using "-i" ("--image") option to swfplay allows the flash file to be played completely.

Is this still an issue?

I just get a repeating load animation but no crashes.

I'm still getting this problem. Perhaps I was unclear. You should click many many times very fast, maybe a minute or so, before you are lucky and the animation starts. Then you would see the problem.

No crashes for me, the animation plays normally after managing to click the play button
Seems like an issue with X or cairo, I have development version of cairo from Hardy and nVidia's binary drivers...

Still got this problem?
Comment 5 Pavel Roskin 2008-04-13 19:30:08 UTC
Yes, the problem still exists with the current git version. I'm using Fedora 8 with all updates. That's the graphics card:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV370 5B60 [Radeon X300 (PCIE)]
01:00.1 Display controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV370 [Radeon X300SE]

I'm using the free driver that comes with Fedora.
Comment 6 Pavel Roskin 2008-04-26 19:33:19 UTC
The problem is fixed in git by forcing me to upgrade cairo from 1.4.14 to 1.6.4. Actually, I gave up and upgraded the whole Fedora from 8+updates to rawhide, so the X server was upgraded too, as well as hundreds of other things.

Not very nice, but I guess the bug can be closed now.
