Description
Bug

Do you have the same problem with XAA? Also, is the system locked hard, or can you restart X remotely via ssh? On r5xx chips, I've noticed I get console corruption when I use EXA composite accel. I haven't tracked down why yet. The same may be true of r4xx. (In reply to comment #1) > Do you have the same problem with XAA? Havent noticed real console distortion. Will try out XAA now. (In reply to comment #2) > I only use composite accell because otherwise the server doesn't start with > exa, [...] You mean bug 15780? That's fixed now. Can you attach a log file from a frozen X server? freezer xorg log
attached a log, yes it's a screen kb mouse i/o freezer btw, system remains accessible over net. When you log in remotely, is the X server still alive? Does it hog the CPU? Can you attach gdb to it and get a backtrace? Does this not happen with another video driver, e.g. vesa? Paul: in your log it says (II) evdev brain: Rescanning devices (1). this shouldn't show up if you're using server 1.4 or above. you need to install a more recent version of evdev. Thanks, it was caused by evdev indeed. |
