Works fine here with xserver Git, so let's assume this was an EXA bug which has been fixed in the meantime. Please try a newer xserver, preferably the Git master branch but at least the 1.4 branch. Hmm, actually it's unknown you're really using EXA... if that's not the problem, please attach the full xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log and reopen. Created attachment 16750 [details]

The Xorg.0.log from when X crashed
I am now running xserver from GIT as of today, and also the radeon driver from GIT as of today. The "big image" freeze as indeed gone away, but now my whole system freezes when I play an AVI file with mplayer (using Xv) and go full-screen. Again, system freezes up. Mouse still moves, but movement looks choppy. Ctrl-Alt-Backspace do nothing. Any ideas what this could be?
