Summary: second screen becomes zebra crossing after switching desktops
Product: xorg Reporter: Stefan Tjarks <stefan>
Component: Driver/RadeonAssignee: xf86-video-ati maintainers <xorg-driver-ati>
Status: RESOLVED INVALID QA Contact:
Severity: normal
Priority: low
Version: 7.3 (2007.09)

Description Stefan Tjarks 2008-05-27 20:28:21 UTC
Hardware: Apple iBook G4 - Radeon Mobility 9200
OS: xUbuntu Hardy PPC

xrandr settings
LVDS connected 1024x768+0+1050 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 245mm x 184mm
VGA-0 connected 1680x1050+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 474mm x 296mm

Switching to other X session with ctrl+alt+F8 works and I have a new X server with different X configuration. Switching back with ctrl+alt+F7 and my VGA-0 screen is a zebra crossing, still xrandr configuration is active. Have to turn VGA-0 output off and on to get rid of it.

Xorg.conf has only one customized entry:

Section "Screen"
    Identifier "Default Screen"
    Monitor "Configured Monitor"
    Device "Configured Video Device"
    SubSection "Display"
        Depth 24
        Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600"
        Virtual 1680 1818
    EndSubSection
EndSection

Is this still an issue? This sounds more like a driver issue to me.

The iBook died 2009. Can't test this anymore.
