the sample that can not be displayed correctly

Some English letters will be displayed under other letters.
When you select some words (the words include English and Chinese at the same time), the words that were selected can not be displayed correctly. But, the result of the copy is right.

I am not sure i understand correctly the problem.

Does the problem only happen when you select text?

Can you attach a screenshot of the problem?

evince display error

In fact, the Bug includes 2 parts as following:
1.	The PDF (include Chinese words and English words at the same time) file can not be displayed correctly. In “acrobar_display.JPG” file, you can find the correct display in acrobat reader 7.0. In “evince_display.JPG file”, you can find the result of evince on the same PDF file. I had marked these errors with red circles.
2.	When you select the text line that includes Chinese words and English words at the same time, the part of the Chinese word in this line will not be displayed correctly. The “evince_selected_display.JPG” file shows the error. If you compare with “acrobar_display.JPG” file, you will find it.

Which poppler version are you using?
Comment 9 zhao wei 2008-06-12 17:12:49 UTC
My poppler version is 0.6.x.
My Evince version is 2.20.1
Comment 10 Albert Astals Cid 2008-06-13 14:01:50 UTC
Any chance you can try with newer versions?
Comment 11 zhao wei 2008-06-16 01:24:44 UTC
There are same problems on the poppler-0.8.3.

Comment 12 Albert Astals Cid 2008-06-23 06:22:46 UTC
Well, the pdf itself is a bit faulty, it has 2 fonts that are not embedded so it's up to the application rendering the pdf to provide them, i'll attach a screenshot of the poppler test application and acroread 8.1.2 rendering here and you'll see we do much better (in my computer)

I don't have evince so i can't test selection.
