Description Alexey Kuznetsov 2008-07-12 11:57:36 UTC
MacBook Pro X1600
Fedora 9
PlayOnLinux 3.0.7

GuildWars/Steam do not have 3d support. TuxRace work really slow.

GuildWars have black screen. With -dx8 flag work really slow 2-3fps.

OpenArena work fine.

Added your data to http://wiki.x.org/wiki/RadeonProgram . Your chipset is in the r500 column.

My guess on Guild Wars and most of the Steam/Source games is that they need GLSL, although I'm not certain.

Are there any warnings, fallbacks, or errors in the console output?

Also are you sure that Wine is loading OpenGL correctly?
Comment 2 Corbin Simpson 2008-07-12 12:44:21 UTC
TuxRacer works fine for me. Which version of Mesa are you using?

TuxRace (extremetuxracer-0.4-1.fc9.i386) work slow on map Pratice/Doing (8fps), and work good on race Practice "Who says penguins can't fly?" (80 fps)
Comment 8 Corbin Simpson 2008-08-23 09:53:32 UTC
I'm getting a solid 60 fps (vsync enabled) with everything cranked up in etracer.

Is your driver version 6.8.x or 6.9.x? You should try and make sure that's up to date.

I wonder if there are any Apple-specific HW issues here...
Comment 9 Alexey Kuznetsov 2008-08-23 10:17:20 UTC
first post assigned to 6.8, then 6.9 and now i'm at git version. same issues...
Comment 10 Alexey Kuznetsov 2009-03-07 23:14:03 UTC
