I can confirm this bug, on an asus m50sa, with a Radeon hd3650 mobility card. It doesn't recognise my card, with radeonhd git version 29/7-08 (In reply to comment #6) > I can confirm this bug, on an asus m50sa, with a Radeon hd3650 mobility card. > > It doesn't recognise my card, with radeonhd git version 29/7-08 > Thomas, your card is definitely in the list. BogDan's got the same PCI Id: 0x9591 and it's recognized for him. That it's not working atm is a different issue. To find out why will require some experiments. > (In reply to comment #6) [..] > That it's not working atm is a different issue. I'll do anything you ask. *** Bug 16919 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** BogDan: could you please try with the option Option "NoRandr" "yes" and see if the problem goes away then? Does any one of the reporters have more than 2 GB installed on the machine? If so please try to reduce it to 2GB and see if the problems go away. (In reply to comment #10) > BogDan: could you please try with the option > Option "NoRandr" "yes" > and see if the problem goes away then? > No and yes ;) No: Is not working on old radeonhd drivers. Yes: Is working on atombios based radeonhd driver (compiled from git today) WITH the option Option "UseAtomBIOS" "yes" Now I can see something on my screen. But, so far, I found 3 problems: 1. switching from X to console gives me only a black screen. 2. I have no 2D acceleration or is very slow 3. Colors are a bit strange. It looks like I have only 32k or 65k colors. Sorry for the delayed answer (but I was gone), (In reply to comment #11) > Does any one of the reporters have more than 2 GB installed on the machine? Xorg.0.log atombios radeonhd
Hi, After commit 14031d56f41b2c93f80ba5db58a1e2c235c5cd21 I compile the radeonhd driver again and I want to report the status: After this commit I can use the driver without option "UseAtomBIOS" "yes" and the problem 3 and (partially) 1, which I reported on comment #12, disappear. Problem 1 is partially done because after I switch form X to console only letters are shown ok, the rest (numbers, and other characters (!,@#$%...) look strange). Problem 2 persist ! With option "UseAtomBIOS" "yes" all problems reported comment #12 persist. I don't use Option "NoRandr" "yes" (with or without option "UseAtomBIOS" "yes") my screen goes black. Thanks. Hi again. I just want to tell you, I've got it working too after BogDan's description on comment #16 (Using the norandr option). But also I noticed something when not using xrandr. If I plug my TV to the hdmi output, I am able to light up a screen, if restarting X. It happens with / without the randr option. Although when not using the norandr options, I can't change the resolution. When not using the norandr option (with xrandr), I get a picture on my TV (with wrong resolution) but my panel blooms. When changing resolution with xrandr, I might end up with a display in my panel insted and nothing on my TV :S I have attached 4 Xorg.0.log files: 1. With "NoRandr" "yes" option and no hdmi connected. 2. With "NoRandr" "yes" option with hdmi connected. 3. Without "NoRandr" "yes" option and no hdmi connected. 4. Without "NoRandr" "yes" option with hdmi connected. Created attachment 18399 [details]

dpi problem xorg.conf
Hi I think found another problem, I don't know is only form my card or is for all.
I can't set the dpi (I want to increase the dpi, my fonts are too small) . I try with:
DisplaySize 406 254 # 1920x1200 100 dpi
in my monitor section but this option seems to be ignored by the driver.
Is this a driver problem or I'm to stupid to set this option correctly ?
BogDan: About problem 2: there is no 2D accel for your chipset (yet). About problem 3: you say that it happens with 'Option "AtomBIOS" "on"' but not without the option, right? Chould you please do the following: run rhd_dump <pci_id> -r0x6710,0x6714 rhd_dump <pci_id> -r0x6f10,0x6f14 and provide me the output? BogDan: Also: rhd_dump <pci_id> -r0x75bc,0x75a0 rhd_dump <pci_id> -r0x79bc,0x79a0 rhd_dump <pci_id> -r0x7f04,0x7f08 Thanks! Ati Mobility Radeon 3650 RandR turned ON causing blooming
Hello,
I've the same card (Ati Mobility 3650) and the same problem. With latest radeonhd from git I need to setup Option "NoRandr" in xorg.conf to get other than weird colors=blooming in the display.
Radeon from gif doesn't work at all because it doesn't allow to turn Randr off.
This attachment is Xorg.0.log without NoRandr in xorg.log when the driver is failing.
