Currently all desktop files in the applications directory are processed on every refresh. It would safe a lot of time if the time stamp of the last scan is saved and only newly added or changed desktop files are processed.

Yes, agree, good idea. I've fixed this in 2cb56f8a89f47cc25d7713369c53f6d3be2c831e
