Description David 2008-11-02 12:24:28 UTC
I just loaded Ubuntu 8.10 and when I installed a flash player in Firefox, I decided to give swfdec a try. I then went to Youtube to see how it worked. It worked just fine when I only had one movie playing, but whenever I tried to open more than one (each in their own tab) Firefox would freeze up. I pulled up the system monitor, and Firefox was using all of one of my processors (I have a dual core), and there was a consistent download going on that never ended. I tried this multiple times, and each time I had to force firefox to quit.

0.8.2 fixed a freeze with h264 video on youtube.com, please try it when available for your distro or try compiling it from source.

Ok, switched to 0.8.2 myself: 8 youtube.com videos playing concurrently with at least one of them h264/aac and no hangs. And i have a low spec machine for these days.
Please reopen if 0.8.2 does not fix the issue for you.
