I want to do it:
$ gedit
(press shift+space)
Type "akino" then press space
=> It shows them:
1 秋の
2 飽きの
3 厭きの
4 空きの
...

Press '4' and I can choose "空きの".

Is it possible?

That depends on implementation of each input methods. Kazuki implemented such 
feature to uim-anthy. Can I close this bug?

Will you implement it to uim-anthy, uim-skk and uim-prime?
Some SKK users believe that the feature is implemented to uim-0.4.6.
They will boo to uim-0.4.6...

So you'd better say "what will be implemented and what will NOT be implemented"
to uim-ml.

I don't use SKK, but I think the feature is useful for uim-prime.

Already implemented to uim-anthy. uim-prime also has this feature
considerably ahead.(Ctrl + numkey)

I haven't seen such request yet. Since I already declared that I'll implement
this feature to generic IM, I'll implement to generic IM. But I have no will
to implement to uim-skk for now.

Great! I've found "Select candidates by numeral keys" in uim-pref. :-)

I also won't add "commiting string with selecting number" in UIM-SKK in 0.4.6
since I don't use the feature.

Anyway, I've added candidate selection (commit) by heading label string key in
uim-skk.  Only label with numeric character is implemented for the moment.
