Description Bráulio Barros de Oliveira 2008-11-30 13:51:22 UTC
After the upgrade to Xorg 1.5.3 on ArchLinux (64bit) the memory usage of the xorg server greatly improved, except when using opengl enabled applications.

Before enabling KDE4's Desktop Effects, X was using 47mb of memory, and then just after enabling it, it used 98mb. After a few minutes of use, it is now using 165mb of memory, according to KDE System Activity monitor.

This leak can be confirmed under the latest KDE svn build and also the stable version (4.1.3)

Is this still happening with xserver 1.6.x?
Comment 2 Bráulio Barros de Oliveira 2009-09-01 06:31:20 UTC
it seems ok and not leaking to much memomry with latest archlinux packages.
although some composite and opengl with kwin leaks to be yet ocurring.
