Description David Prieto 2009-01-07 09:55:44 UTC
I originally opened this bug here: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=566780

"When plugging my stone plus mp3 player, I have noticed that RB only recognizes
those files inside the "MUSIC" folder in the player, but not the root folder."

The developer's answer:

"The HAL device info for this device lists 'MUSIC' as the folder the device
itself uses for music. If this is incorrect, please file a bug against
hal-info in http://bugs.freedesktop.org/. Otherwise, no, we need to use the
device's music folder, otherwise songs transferred to the device won't show up
on it".

Well, I just wanted to say the device itself uses the root folder for music. Or at least it DOES recognise and play all music I copy to the root folder, and does not have a "MUSIC" folder created out of the box. This results in the user copying all the music to the root folder, and Rhythmbox not finding it when plugged in.
