Logs - new driver and xorg-x11-server
Well, where to start here. Basically this is not a driver bug (the logs are fine from that point of view). This is more of a "how to configure" topic that belongs to one of the various forums out there. In addition you assume to configure multiple screens (on multiple cards) using xrandr, but that is a no-go as RandR dosn't support multiple video cards yet. Your xorg.conf is missing a lot of information. It doesn't even define all monitors used (google for randr config) and in all your Xorg.0.logs there is never a second screen defined in the used xorg.conf (second screen always commented out in ServerLayout?). |

Created attachment 22725 [details] Logs and config from various runs. I need to have 5 monitors in computer. I have three identical PCI-express graphic cards radeon X1650 with RV535 chip. Now I'm trying to configure 3 monitors (because 2 monitors on one card work well). On opensuse 11.1, X.Org X server 1.5.2, radeonhd driver 1.2.4, I can get the picture to two monitors on the same card only. Other drivers don't help - neither fglrx nor radeon. I can't run two monitors on the second card (only one card in xorg.conf, but with different PCI ID) - machine freezes. When I take the third card out, the machine behaves the same. On opensuse 11.0 with X.Org X Server 1.4.0.90 it is a bit better. I can configure 3 or 4 monitors via xrandr, but they're in two groups. I have mouse cursor on one card and can't go to another. When I change resolution on monitor from the second group, I can work on the second group and can't on the first. It crashes when I switch xinerama on. Because there are many combinations (various versions of X, two drivers (radeon, radeonhd), with and without xinerama, with two or three cards), can you say me which configuration of sw and HW will be the best for you, please? I have never compiled xorg, but I'm ready to try it.
