Description JeffCheng 2004-12-04 10:31:48 UTC
I am running FC3 (kernel-2.6.9-1.681_FC3, xorg-x11-6.8.1-12.FC3.21) on a Dell
Inspiron 5150 with a Radeon M9. Whenever I set the AGPMode option to anything
other than 1 in xorg.conf, my system freezes. Unfortunately, nothing can be
found to be logged. Note: I know that dri is enabled if I start X without the
option. Also, the Dell bios won't allow me to configure agp options, so is
there another way to check what agp mode the bios is set to?

try with fastwrite set to no and agp set to 4

fastwrite can cause hangs on a lot of chipsets.... that is why it is off by
default...

I have tried it with only the AGPMode option without success.

i believe some mobility chipsets have known bugs when using higher agp modes.

Closing this bug due to the lack of activity. Please reopen if the issue still
persists with a current version of xorg.
