Fontconfig shouldn't be in the business of picking DPI for default usage; consider the case of using fontconfig to generate printer output. This could be an Xft change though. So I guess this invalidates my suggestion that distributions add it in their local.conf files. Changing it in Xft would mean just having it default in code, or is there a standard place for x resources to be defined? |
