Description Rune Petersen 2004-12-09 14:01:49 UTC
I am using Xorg 6.8.1 on a Debian system with a 2.6.10-rc3-bk2 Linux kernel. The
PC ia an AMD 2500+ on an nForce2 mobo + 1GB of memory. The video card is an ATI
Radeon X800XT JK (non PE).

The system hangs when trying to start X the log doesn't indicate any errors/panics.
It appears to be similar to bug #1435 apart from the fact I can't get it to work
with any of the proposed changes.

the lockup are coursed by the modules "fi1236" and "msp3430".

by deleting/renaming these modules the server starts but corrupted background &
cursor.

but the lockup must be caused by the interaction of the modules and the Radeon
driver.

the gfx-card is a VIVO model btw.
