I tried to run the DOOM 3 demo and I got.

using ARB_vertex_buffer_object memory
using ARB renderSystem
Mesa implementation error: unexpected texture format in r200ChooseTextureFormat

I'm running FedoraCore 3 on Radeon9200 with xorg version 6.8.1-12.FC3.1

fixed in CVS, and in Mesa 6.2.1 which is in the Xorg 6.8.2 release candidate.

r200_dri.so does not support S3TC textures by default due to patent licensing
issues.
