log is from the radeon driver. Can you try adding Option "ModeDebug" "true" to your xorg.conf device section and posting the log it produces. Thats the actual startup message. I have added the option line the the config an attached the Xorg.log. I don't know if its important but this test if run while logged in via ssh from remote. The display is off so it's not found. I do the log again when at home an the display is on.
