Description Peter Hercek 2009-04-27 11:23:56 UTC
xrandr reports that resolution 3840x1024 is not available. HW supports the resolution since it works well on WinXP (using digital interface). Not only it is not there by default but trying to force its addition with -newmode adds it only for the analog interface.

I do not know current status of radeonhd but it works well now with the current (2009-09-04) git versions of xf86-video-ati, mesa, libdrm, and agd5f's r6xx-r7xx-3d branch of drm kernel module.

Does this issue occur with the preferred ati driver (xf86-vide-ati)? If so, please move this to the Driver/Radeon component.

Development of radeonhd has pretty much halted and development focus is on the ati driver. Please see http://www.x.org/wiki/radeonhd

If the issue does not exist in the ati driver (or if there is no response to this message), this bug will be closed as WONTFIX unless someone contributes a patch.

This issue does not occur with the preferred ati driver (xf86-video-ati). At least, it did not when I used xg86-video-ati the last time (about 3 weeks ago).
I cannot change the status to WONTFIX though.
