> ModeLine "1600x1024" 159.84 1600 1608 1752 2012 1024 1043 1046 1101 > (**) RADEON(0): *Mode "1600x1024": 159.8 MHz (scaled from 0.0 MHz), 67.5 kHz, 60.0 Hz > (II) RADEON(0): Modeline "1600x1024" 159.84 1600 1952 2096 2368 1024 1083 1086 1125 Try giving your custom 1600 x 1024 modeline a different name. I'm having a similar problem with the ATI provided fglrx drivers on an ATI X700. I have added the following Modeline to my xorg.conf file: ModeLine "2048x2048" 357.18 2048 2090 2410 2816 2048 2051 2054 2114 -hsync -vsync Xorg 6.8.1 starts successfully, but the Xorg.0.log doesn't precisely match the Modeline: (II) fglrx(0): Total of 34 modes found for primary display. (--) fglrx(0): Virtual size is 2048x2048 (pitch 2048) (**) fglrx(0): *Mode "2048x2048": 357.2 MHz (scaled from 0.0 MHz), 126.8 kHz, 59.0 Hz (II) fglrx(0): Modeline "2048x2048" 357.18 2048 2090 2410 2816 2048 2051 2054 2114 +csync The output on the screen tells me that the Modeline is not being taken correctly. (The Modeline is known to be correct; we use it on this monitor with many different video cards.) I have not tried this on Xorg's radeon driver yet. Whats the status of this bug using a current version of xorg / radeon? Closing this bug due to the lack of activity. If the problem still persists, please reopen. I am still getting this bug with X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0, Release 7.1.1. The X server ignores 'Modes "1280x1024"' in SubSection "Display" and also ignores the modeline I specified in the "Monitor" section. I can obtain the desired resolution when X is started with the KDE control panel. My apologies, it was a configuration error on my side (PEBKAC). |
