I tried making a sip call with Empathy version 2.27.1, but the call hangs in the connecting phase. On a console, I see

According to Sjoerd Simons:

"bug in tp-fs caused by sofiasip not yet implementing the latest improvements in telepathy
tp-fs should fall back on the old methods, but doesn't"

This is with telepathy-farsight version 0.0.6, telepathy-sofiasip version 0.5.15.

any guidance from devs on the severity of the issue, whether further testing is needed, whether help is needed?

This was fixed sometimes in the paste.. Use the newest version

confirmed fixed thanks. call quality is very bad tho, compared to "old reliable" Twinkle client. Posting another bug
