Xorg.0.log

Distribution: Kubuntu 9.10 alpha with updates as of 29/05/09.
Monitor: Dell 3008WFP
Card: FirePro V3750 (however lspci identifies it as FirePro V5700, pci id 1002:949f)
Cable: DisplayPort

When booting the machine, after starting X the screen becomes and stays black, however the machine is still usable over ssh. Switching to a console with Alt-F does not work.

It occured to me that after restarting X, the machine freezes. This is reproducible.

I tried both DisplayPort connectors of the graphics card, the behaviour is the same.

I'm wondering if there is a problem with the monitor, as usually in Xorg.log the EDID is printed, in mine however not.

There is no support for Displayport yet. If possible, you may want to try DVI until Displayport support is available. DP->DVI adapters should work if the screen is attached at boot.

DP is supported in UMS and KMS now.
