This seems pretty reasonable. I believe that, with some work, we could support this feature on i915-class hardware as well. I think exposing an extension that allows GL_TEXTURE_2D to be used with GL_TEXTURE_RECTANGLE_ARB limitations is the right way to go. I'd suggest naming this extension GL_MESA_texture_rectangle_normalized. The classic r300 driver has been abandoned long ago. It was replaced by the Gallium driver r300g. If you have issues with r300g please file a new bug report with component Drivers/Gallium/r300 Thanks. |
