Description Nicolò Chieffo 2009-06-11 00:57:56 UTC
butterfly should support contact drag & drop to move a contact from a group to another group
Comment 1 Xavier Claessens 2009-06-11 01:15:35 UTC
Note that the DnD is done in Empathy, that result in butterfly in handles moved from one contact list channel to another.

It works with gabble and not with butterfly, so I guess there is something wrong in butterfly...
Comment 2 Nicolò Chieffo 2009-06-11 01:40:56 UTC
This is a strange thing, since empathy knows how to move contacts in butterfly: right click on contact, edit then it opens a window in which you can change groups.

The drag&drop should work without adding anything to butterfly
Comment 3 Nicolò Chieffo 2009-06-11 08:28:47 UTC
almost fixed in butterfly git master, BUT the default action is to copy a contact, instead of moving it from a group to another.

At that point, it becomes UI policy, not a CM bug.
Comment 5 Nicolò Chieffo 2009-06-11 08:39:50 UTC
Yes, you are right, sorry I didn't pay much attention.
Comment 6 Nicolò Chieffo 2009-06-11 08:47:44 UTC
But now the edit contact information window does no more work if you want to edit groups. do I need to open a separate bug?
Comment 7 Nicolò Chieffo 2009-06-11 08:50:21 UTC
Sorry just arrived another commit which fixed this!
Bye
Comment 8 Will Thompson 2009-06-11 09:36:02 UTC
Changing resolution to FIXED, since it was fixed in Butterfly master, and will be in 0.3.4. (Jonny, correct me if I'm wrong?)
Comment 9 Olivier Le Thanh Duong 2009-06-11 12:57:54 UTC
Nicolò, you can move a contact by pressing shift will dropping. But like Will said it's really up to empathy, you should open a bug there if you want to see it changed.

Will, yes this is fixed. 0.3.4 should be a released soon.
