Description Nicolò Chieffo 2009-06-23 02:45:28 UTC
if you try to go offline (from empathy) while still connecting, you will have problems:
1) a box showing "network error" and a button to edit the accounts; you can no
more go online, even if you quit and restart empathy
2) it can also happen (only if you are running tp-b from the command line, to
see the debug) that while marked as offline in empathy, you see your contact
list as you were online (actually you are not online for other contacts, but
you can send messages) maybe you are marked invisible for some strange reasons?

In both cases the telepathy-butterfly process remains alive, so if you want to fix it you have to kill the butterfly process
