I think I have got some better understanding of my problem.
When I was installing the fedora 11, I had done the media check test, which I did not do in the case of fedora 10.It showed no error in the installation media of fedora 11.Later,I thought to do the same for fedora 10 installation media.I got the installation media from which I installed fedora 10.The media test result showed some errors in the installation media.I hope this was my main problem from which I had lots of troubles with packages and programs, while these were not there with fedora 11.
So I would suggest to those users who have similar problems can just take some time to do the media test for their installation media they used.
For new users who are trying to install the linux versions I would suggest to once check and comfirm their media test results and then to further proceed for the os installation.

Hi there,
This bug report is very old and based on a version not supported anymore. By upgrading to a newer version of PackageKit you could receive bug fixes and new functionality. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain a newer version of PackageKit.
Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem still occurs with the latest version.
