The man page of xqproxy
The complete xqproxy package released under MIT license |
X.Org currently only provides software licensed under the MIT license, not GPL. freedesktop.org general project hosting accepts GPL software though, which is basically the same thing without the "xorg" prefix in paths. Hi, I did a quick research on MIT license and I have no problem at all changing to MIT license for this package, and I think this is probably even better. Now I think it's a question of whether it's more suitable to put in x.org apps, or a general freedesktop app? Personally I still prefer x.org apps. I will change the manpage attachment soon, and will change the whole package to MIT license before it's published. Well, this is not a re-licensed job, since the package is never published yet. :) Vic Created attachment 29349 [details]

Hi,
The attached the whole package here so you can review. It's MIT licensed in order to be X-friendly.
Thanks,
Vic
Hi, after a very long delay we've come to the decision that we'll happily accept you into the fdo fold. It does however seem like you don't have an account yet, so if you could request one as per http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/AccountRequests, that'd be appreciated. I'll hold off creating the git repo and such until you have the account set up. Hi, Thanks, I've created the request for account here: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27793 I've now created the git repository for this, which you can push to as ssh://git.freedesktop.org/git/xqproxy.git . If you want a bugzilla product, please provide a product description as well as a list of components with a short description. Do you need space for hosting releases? If so, we can provide that as well. Closing this ticket, if you want any bugzilla, mailing lists, file hosting, please reopen. When I tried to push I got the following error: *** Project description file hasn't been set error: hooks/update exited with error code 1 error: hook declined to update refs/heads/master To ssh://llyzs@git.freedesktop.org/git/xqproxy.git ! [remote rejected] master -> master (hook declined) error: failed to push some refs to 'ssh://llyzs@git.freedesktop.org/git/xqproxy.git' I think the description must be set on server side before I can push? Might look like it, yes. I've set the description to XDMCP Query Proxy now, if you want it to be something else, tell me. Also, please try pushing again. Done! Thanks a lot for your help! Just add a link for the git web in case someone needs it. http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xqproxy/ |

Created attachment 28548 [details] The man page of xqproxy xqproxy - XDMCP Query Proxy xqproxy is a proxy program that can send XDMCP query to a display manager to establish XDM session for an existing local X display. By using xqproxy, it's possible to tunnel the entire XDMCP session through SSH port forwarding to a local X server (X, or Xephyr) xqproxy depends on libXdmcp package.
