Description Paulo Cabido 2009-08-21 09:40:17 UTC
I'm a SoC student and during my work I created a python geoclue module that I named python-geoclue. It's not actually python bindings for geoclue, it's a module to facilitate the use of geoclue for any python developer.
Beucase Gecolue already has a D-Bus API I didn't make any python bindings I use the D-Bus API, in the future I'll see the way to go.

I have talked with Keith Preston about including this with Geoclue, but as a separate module and not being bindings it makes some sense to have a separate repository.

It makes sense to have the project hosted with freedesktop.org as Geoclue is hosted here also.

I'm the SoC mentor of Paulo and I support his request :-)

Hi,

assuming this project is still active, we'll be happy to host it on Freedesktop.org. You don't yet have an account here, so you need to request that. In addition, which services do you need? We have bugzilla, git hosting and web space. If you're happy about sharing any with geoclue, that works for us too.

Sorry about the late response. :-/

Lately I haven't done any work on this project, but it is still alive and it would benefit of being hosted at fdo.

I'll be needing all 3 (bugzilla, git hosting and web space for a simple page). Thanks.

Any news on the account?

Hi,

sorry about the lack of progress. I'll try to get around to getting it set up this week.
Comment 6 Tollef Fog Heen 2010-03-31 00:39:52 UTC
To go ahead with this, you should first request an account using the procedure on http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/AccountRequests and then I can create the project and add you to it.

I've set up the git repo called python-geoclue and some space under annarchy:/srv/www.freedesktop.org/www/software/python-geoclue.

To create the bugzilla product I need a short description and which components you want to include (minimum one) and a short description for each.
Comment 8 Paulo Cabido 2010-04-10 08:01:59 UTC
Description: python-geoclue: python module for geoclue

I have only one component at the moment, that I named "Base".
Comment 9 Tollef Fog Heen 2010-04-13 07:50:04 UTC
I've now created the bugzilla component. Welcome.
