PDF documents specify the font to use to render the document (or even embed the font if it is not one of the PDF defaults). Please let the user override this font with a font of his selection. This is a usability and an accessibility issue.

An example of a PDF file where ability to force user specified font instead of embedded ones would make text readable.

Rendering of sample PDF in Okular and Inkscape

Importing PDF with embedded fonts into Inkscape allows to change font and thus make readable again.

Top: Okular 1.3.3 with PDF Backend 0.6.5 Poppler 0.62.0-r1
Bottom: Inkscape 0.92 (built-in importer)
