Description Mikhail Zabaluev 2009-11-19 06:52:08 UTC
In mobile telephony and Skype there may be calls or messages from unidentified parties, which however need to be distinguished for some follow-up use cases.

My idea to deal with this is to provide an extension to classify these contact handles as private (there may be other classes as well), so that the client would know not to display their IDs the same way as it would show properly addressable handles.

I don't know if it's practical to let such handles have an empty string ID, but it may be a string ID which cannot be successfully used in RequestHandles or Contacts on the same (or any other) connection.

This may be considered together with bug #15562.
