dmesg output
This is expected at the moment. I've just fixed a number of issues on my G210, they'll appear in git shortly, and will likely help here too. If you update to 6169057b2992862565c513ca432b35c4df33288a and retry, hopefully you'll have a bit more luck :) I updated to 6169057b2992862565c513ca432b35c4df33288a but sadly this did not solve the problem. Still no picture but laptop reacts to keyboard input etc. Regards, Manuel Created attachment 31725 [details]
dmesg with 6169057b2992862565c513ca432b35c4df33288a
Instead, now my system freezes. I am not able able to reproduce it consistently: sometimes it happens after 30 minutes of use and sometimes after four or more hours of working with the laptop (using Firefox, SSH, skype, etc). Audio keeps playing but it does not react to any keyboard input. The only thing I can do is SYSRQ B. I have attached the system log, although no errors are reported. Reverting back to the old release solves the problem. I know this is work in progress, just wanted to let you know that there might be a problem with the current releases. Freeze log

The only thing > I can do is SYSRQ B. > I have attached the system log, although no errors are reported. > just in case you don't know all sysrq commands, you should check out : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_SysRq_key You can try r to take control of keyboard, k to kill X. And sub to sync, umount, reboot (this ensures logs gets written/synced to disk). Thanks for the link. I knew B and S (also used that one when my laptop froze, forgot to mention it) but I did not know the other ones. I will try the new drivers again and try to get some more info when my system freezes. I have been using the latest git release for about half an hour now and it has not frozen yet. However, there are some screen artifacts in the top left corner, it seems like parts from other sections of the screen. Or if I run "find" I will see a black rectangle and yellow artifacts. I have not seen anything weird in the logs, except maybe this: Dec 13 22:07:55 [kernel] [ 958.740892] [drm] nouveau 0000:01:00.0: DCB I2C port type 6 unknown Dec 13 22:07:55 [kernel] [ 958.788065] [drm] nouveau 0000:01:00.0: DCB I2C port type 6 unknown It appears that this bug report has laid dormant for quite a while. Sorry we haven't gotten to it. Since we fix bugs all the time, chances are pretty good that your issue has been fixed with the latest software. Please give it a shot. (Linux kernel 3.10.7, xf86-video-nouveau 1.0.9, mesa 9.1.6, or their git versions.) If upgrading to the latest isn't an option for you, your distro's bugzilla is probably the right destination for your bug report. In an effort to clean up our bug list, we're pre-emptively closing all bugs that haven't seen updates since 2011. If the original issue remains, please make sure to provide fresh info, see http://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/Bugs/ for what we need to see, and re-open this one. Thanks, The Nouveau Team |

Created attachment 31697 [details] Xorg.0.log When resuming from hibernate (with or without tuxonice), my laptop's screen stays turned off. This happens regardless of the hibernate command being executed from X or from the console. The laptop still reacts to input through the keyboard and I can open a ssh session and reboot it. I have attached the output of dmesg after resuming, and the Xorg.0.log, after running "startx" with the screen turned off. If you need any other information, please let me know and I will happily provide it. Thanks, Manuel
