Binary package hint: xorg

Using the latest ati drivers on a Rv535 (Mobility Radeon X2300) video card. When using metacity and trying to display an openoffice impress presentation with a dual monitor setup, the presenter console is displayed on top of the presentation. That is on top of the actual presentation on the second monitor. This is obviously useless and incorrect. The presenter-console should be displayed on the laptop (monitor 1) while the presentation should be displayed on the external monitor (monitor 2).

Interestingly, when I switch window managers to compiz, the behaviour of the presenter console **magically** is corrected and does not over lay on the single monitor (monitor 2). It behaves as expected.

I know this presenter console worked with the FGLRX driver in Hardy & Intrepid. So, I'm thinking that the xorg-xserver-ati (xorg-xserver-radeon) driver is mis-specifying the monitor 1/monitor 2 designation in how openoffice.org is quering xorg-xserver-ati?

Please let me know if you have any troubleshooting, or need more information.

I orginally reported this bug in Lanchpad for Ubuntu, but am reporting it here as it may be an "upstream" issue.

This is an application issue.
