Description Aljaž Prusnik 2009-12-22 04:10:21 UTC
same setup as in bug #25460

After compiling the new stable kernel, if radeon.modesetting is enabled the sytem hangs at boot. Some lines are printed (indicating the beginning of the boot process) then the screen gets blanked and stays turned on, while everything else doesn't respond (keyboard, disk).

This doesn't happend if I disable radeon modesetting and it doesn't happen with the 2.6.32.1 kernel and modesetting enabled. Under the latter I still experience bug #25460.

Sadly I cannot offer any logs because they don't get written yet.

Any ideas before figuring out problematic commit out of the ones in the 2.6.32.2 package, or should I go and bisect which could take a while...

It happens the same on another machine with a RV710 [Radeon HD 4350] but does not happen on a laptop with ATI Radeon IGP330M/340M/350M (U2) 4337 chipset.
