Attachments: | Screencast showing Anthy input in KWrite with UIM Qt4 immodule |
Further testing shows this behavior occurs using SCIM and I-Bus as well, so I guess it's a KWrite/Kate issue. May want to change to NOTOURBUG. As far as I can see, uim 1.5.7's qt4 plugin works fine with KWrite on Fedora 12. |

Created attachment 32617 [details] Screencast showing Anthy input in KWrite with UIM Qt4 immodule Kubuntu 9.10, UIM 1.5.7 (1:1.5.7-1ubuntu1 from japanese-testers ppa) When using the Qt4 immodule (QT_IM_MODULE="uim"), I can't use Anthy in the KDE text editors KWrite or Kate. When I try to confirm any entered text, the text suggestion doesn't disappear but rather sticks to the entry cursor. As soon as I hit another character except Enter, it undoes the first confirmed text. So no text can really be entered. Direct input works normally. It's hard to describe in words so I'm attaching a screencast of it. As a workaround, if I use the XIM immodule (QT_IM_MODULE="xim") (obviously with uim-xim running), input works as it should.
